Currently, Piecewise Labs will only collect data from you in one of these ways:
If you choose to provide in-app feedback, Piecewise Labs will collect the data you've chosen to provide - a description of the feedback you've provided, log files associated with the event you're providing feedback for, your system's specifications, and a screenshot of the Piecewise window - along with a one-way hashed version of your IP address. This information may be shared with Piecewise's partners in the United States, but only if they have signed a non-disclosure or similar agreement with Piecewise Labs.
Closed Beta Testing
If you choose to opt in to closed-beta testing, Piecewise Labs will retain the name that you enter, the e-mail address that you enter, and the reason why you're entering, only for the duration of the test. This information will not be shared with anyone else.
In addition, Piecewise Labs will send two (2) mandatory emails relating to your registration - one to finalize your beta access, and one at the conclusion of the beta to let you know that it's ended.
Errors, Crashes, and Usage Statistics
If you choose to opt in to providing errors, crashes, and usage statistics to Piecewise Labs, a copy of any errors that you encounter and the results of various performance tests will be sent to Piecewise Labs via Sentry in the United States. If you're running Piecewise with trace-level debugging on, those logs will also be sent. This information is generally deleted after 90 days or at the end of any relevant performance study (whichever is sooner) and will not be shared with anyone else.
